PET/CT Imaging

A PET/CT exam combines Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) into one non-invasive scan. This powerful technology evaluates both metabolic activity and structural anatomy, helping physicians detect cancer, neurological disorders, and other complex conditions—often earlier than conventional imaging. Advanced technology also allows for shorter scan times, improving patient comfort.

Services

Oncology

Lung, Colorectal, Melanoma, Breast, Gynecological, Lymphoma, Brain, Multiple Myeloma, and Other Cancers

This test looks for unusual sugar use in the body. It is used for checking for cancer in patients with known or suspected abnormalities found by other scans.

Prostate

This scan is used to detect areas that show PSMA (prostate-specific membrane antigen) on PET (positron emission tomography) imaging in men with prostate cancer. It may be used when cancer is suspected to have returned or spread or to help determine if a patient with metastatic prostate cancer may benefit from PSMA-targeted therapy with lutetium Lu 177 vipivotide tetraxetan.

Breast

This PET scan is used to help evaluate breast cancer that has spread or come back and is likely hormone-sensitive. It can help doctors understand tumors that are hard to biopsy, decide whether another round of hormone therapy may be helpful if the cancer has progressed, and guide treatment choices when metastatic breast cancer is first diagnosed.

Neurology

Amyloid

Used to estimate the amount of beta-amyloid plaques in the brain in adults who have been diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment or mild Alzheimer’s disease dementia. A centiloid score is provided with each scan through cortical analysis to quantify the β-amyloid neuritic plaque density.

Neuroendocrine

Used with positron emission tomography (PET) scans to help locate neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) in adults that have somatostatin receptors.
