About UAB St. Vincent’s P.E.T. Centers

Robby Wynn is a highly experienced nuclear medicine technologist with more than two decades of leadership in PET imaging. He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Nuclear Medicine program in 1993 and began his career at the VA Medical Center in Birmingham, where he performed general nuclear medicine studies from 1993 to 1999.

In 2000, when PET imaging was first introduced to Alabama, Robby was invited to become the state’s first PET technologist, helping bring this advanced technology to local hospitals. He went on to play a key role in opening multiple PET centers in collaboration with radiology groups before joining UAB St. Vincent’s in 2004. During his 22 years with St. Vincent’s, Robby has helped open two PET imaging sites and worked with three generations of PET camera technology, contributing significantly to the growth and advancement of PET services in the region.

Outside of work, Robby is married to his wife, who practices dentistry, and is the proud father of two children. His daughter is also in dentistry, and his son earned both undergraduate and master’s degrees from UAB and is now a physician completing an Emergency Medicine residency in Galveston, Texas. Robby enjoys playing golf, watching movies, cheering on Alabama football, and is excited to be expecting his first grandchild.
